About Cedar

Meet Cedar, a sweet, energetic, independent, and curious 4yo Mountain Cur mix (squirrel hunting breed, high energy, loves to work, smart, very loyal). He loves the outdoors but settles beautifully indoors. A yard and/or frequent walks or dog parks are ideal for his activity level. He is fully crate-trained & a grad of a premium 5-week board-&-train. Cedar is generally fantastic in public and does great around people and other dogs! As a rescue, his high energy in some cases has displayed as anxiousness/nervousness and impulse behaviors. He is currently working on impulse behaviors. He's had a behavior training for this outside of his 5-week training. Happy to speak more to this. Cedar needs an attentive, vigilant owner who understands dog behavior to proactively manage him around guests and in public. He thrives on a steady routine, structure, clear boundaries, and love. He's a brilliant student and LOVES to work! To set him up for success, his ideal home would work alongside a positive-reinforcement trainer to keep his progress going strong. His current trainer is happy to provide a couple of sessions to build the relationship. Being outdoors and active is truly his happy place, whether walks, runs, or daily hikes with his person and/or other dogs.
