About Aki

I'm looking to find the right home for my Blue Heeler. Her name is Aki (Aa-key) and she is 3 years old. She knows her name. She is spayed and up to date with her shots. Yes, she has all her paperwork as well. She has the classic Heeler intelligence, mannerisms, and energy. If you're familiar with the breed, you'll recognize her personality right away. She's a beautiful, sturdy dog with the loyal, alert nature Heelers are known for. She's clearly a Blue Heeler in both looks and personality. The only difference is her size. She's much larger than the average Australian Cattle Dog, so I believe she's mixed with another breed, though I'm not sure what. I haven't ever had her Embark tested to know what other breeds she may have within her. She's a very sweet and loving family dog who is used to older kids. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and likes most people she meets. She's just a bit nervous/shy with newer people. She is accustomed to being around medium & small dogs and tends to really like black cats for some reason (licks/kisses them and sleeps with them). If you have pet cats, she would need a slow introduction until she gets to know them because she tends to obsess over them. And because she is a heeler (herding dog), if she is around other dogs while they run, she will stand in the way as a blockade for them to crash into her or she will try to bite them at the rump to get them to stop. She knows the 'sit' command but gets antsy/impatient when treats are involved. She knows 'move' along with 'go' and will occasionally remember 'give paw'. She is leash trained too. She loves sweet/baby talk and will look at you like you are the love of her life. I'm looking for a home that understands the needs of working breeds/a herding dog and can give her the time, attention, and environment she deserves. She's an awesome dog, but there is just a size and breed incompatibility that makes it not work out for her here. A rehoming fee does apply.
