About Stanley

Stanley is estimated to be around 5yrs old. I rescued him from the euthanasia list at a local shelter, but unfortunately he has some issues that I cannot handle at this time. He needs an adult only home, with no children or cats. He has not had any issues with my child, but due to his resource guarding and other behavioral issues, I do not feel comfortable placing him into a home with a child. He has some skin allergies that are being treated with a prescription medication. This is something that he will need to be on long-term. He does great on the leash and has been prong collar trained. Knows basic commands and has started picking up on some other commands. Loads and rides in cars well. He is good with medium to large dogs, both male and female. House trained and crate trained. Will occasionally bark in the crate initially but once he gets comfortable he does well. Cannot have bedding in his crate or blankets around, as he will shred them. Loves toys. Current on all vaccines and heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Does get nervous at the vet. I want him placed into a home with someone who is experienced with this breed. He will need work and I am happy to discuss his specific behavioral issues to those with serious inquiries. Also happy to answer any other questions that anyone may have. He is safe for the time being, and I will be picky about where he goes.
