Roosevelt Needs a Foster or Adopter by August 15 to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin Roosevelt is currently in a high-intake kill shelter in Georgia and needs a foster or adopter to secure his spot on Mutt Life Dog Rescue's transport to Cedarburg, Wisconsin on Saturday, August 15. A committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we're hoping someone will give this sweet boy the second chance he deserves. Meet Roosevelt Roosevelt is an 8-month-old Terrier mix (breed is our best guess!) who is ready to leave his difficult past behind. He was rescued from the same neglect case as Jefferson after being seized from a property where multiple dogs were living in poor conditions. Thankfully, Roosevelt is now safe and getting the care he needs. At just 27 pounds, Roosevelt is on the thin side and is working on gaining weight with regular meals and plenty of TLC. Even after everything he's been through, he has every reason to look forward to a brighter future. He's ready to learn what it's like to have a soft bed, a full belly, and a family who will love him unconditionally. If you can foster or adopt this deserving boy and help him start the next chapter of his life, please apply today. www.muttlife.org ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.) Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, that works too! Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable
