About Ramsey

Meet Ramsey (3 Ramsey is a golden retriever and chow chow mix who is 3 and a half, but the only golden retriever trait he has is his affectionate side-everything else is mostly chow personality. Ramsey is a loving, affectionate dog with a big personality. He's energetic, loves exploring, enjoys long walks (especially those that lead to the river-so living near one is a MUST), and being part of his person's life. If he could, he'd be cuddled right next to you 24/7 (if you don't allow pets on furniture, Ramsey's not your type of dog). He's loyal, sweet, and thrives on forming a strong bond with his human. He's brought me so many wonderful memories. Like every dog, Ramsey isn't perfect. He can be stubborn and sometimes decides when he wants to listen. Because of that, he needs someone patient, consistent, and understanding of a dog's unique personality. I truly believe that with the right person and structure, he'll thrive. He doesn't enjoy rough play, being humped, or having dogs constantly in his face after he's given them signals to back off (in his case, he'll come to you when he wants space). He'd likely do best as the only dog or with a calm, respectful senior dog after a proper introduction. Ramsey would be a great match for someone with an active lifestyle. I also think he'd be happiest in an adult-only home where people respect a dog's boundaries (teenagers are fine if they're respectful). He has so much love to give, and with the right person, he'll be an amazing companion. The reason I'm looking to rehome Ramsey isn't because he's a bad dog-he's not. After a year of thinking it over, I've realized we're simply not the right match. I've reached a point where I feel more stressed than I should caring for him, and that's not fair to either of us. I wanted a companion to have fun with, but I've realized Ramsey deserves someone with the patience, consistency, and experience to bring out his best. He deserves a home where he's understood, his training is consistent, and he can continue growing into the best version of himself.
