Ruger is a 3��%BD%BD-year-old purebred German Shepherd weighing approximately 120 pounds. He is neutered, current on all vaccinations, house trained, crate trained, and has completed a Level 1 obedience class. He knows basic commands including sit, down, and stay, rides well in the car, and has no bite history. Ruger is wonderful with adults, children, and other dogs. He is affectionate, incredibly loyal, and loves being with his people. Like many German Shepherds, he is naturally protective of his family and home. Ruger would do best with someone who has experience with German Shepherds or working breeds. He has a high prey drive, so he needs a home without cats or other small animals. He also struggles with separation anxiety, and we'd love to see him with someone who has the time, experience, and commitment to continue helping him succeed through structure, training, and plenty of exercise and enrichment. We are committed to finding Ruger the right home. We are not looking to simply give him to the first person who asks-we want to know he'll be safe, loved, and understood.
