Washington Needs a Foster or Adopter by August 15 to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin Washington is currently in a high-intake kill shelter in Georgia and needs a foster or adopter to secure his spot on Mutt Life Dog Rescue's transport to Cedarburg, Wisconsin on Saturday, August 15. A committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we're hoping someone will give this handsome boy the fresh start he deserves. Meet Washington Washington is a 1�%BD-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix (breed is our best guess!) with a striking appearance and an even brighter future ahead of him. This beautiful boy came from the same neglect case as Jefferson and Roosevelt after being seized from a property where multiple dogs were living in poor conditions. Thankfully, those days are behind him, and he's finally getting the chance to experience the love and care every dog deserves. Despite everything he's been through, Washington is ready to leave the past where it belongs. He's a handsome young dog with soulful eyes and a gentle expression that's hard to forget. As he settles into the shelter, staff are continuing to learn more about his personality, but one thing is already clear-he deserves a family that will give him the safe, happy life he's always deserved. Because Washington lived with many other dogs before coming to the shelter, we believe he is likely dog friendly. He will receive an official dog test at the shelter, and we'll update his bio once we know more. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. �'��3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
