Austin is a handsome 5-year-old, 47-pound Australian Shepherd located in El Granada, California, looking for an experienced home that understands the intelligence and energy of herding breeds. He is incredibly loving, loyal, and affectionate with his family, adores children, and is happiest when he's included in everyday life. Like many Aussies, Austin can be vocal around strangers, other dogs, cyclists, and loud vehicles, but once he has a chance to meet people, he's friendly and enjoys their company. He's completed several levels of obedience training, knows many commands including sit, stay, come, down, spin, paw, crate, leave it, quiet, and fetch, and responds very well to positive reinforcement. He's also comfortable being home alone or relaxing in his crate. Austin would thrive with an active family who can provide regular exercise, continued training, and a quieter neighborhood. He gets along well with other dogs and would do best with someone familiar with herding breeds who can help him continue building confidence.
