MERCED COUNTY in CENTRAL CALIFORNIA- TWO FEMALE CHOW SISTERS 'MOLLY' AND 'SANDY'- OWNER DIED, AND LIVING OUTSIDE ON RANCH WITH HOME BEING SOLD, CAN BE ADOPTED SEPARATELY OR TOGETHER, BUT LIKELY DO BEST AS ONLY DOGS or no other dogs (please no negative comments, family is at least asking for help to rehome). Please help us find a loving, chow savvy forever home for each girl after their owner died and the extended family is unable to keep due to them not getting along with other pets in their home. Molly and Sandy are said to now be 4.5 years old and lived with the owner since about 10 weeks. The daughter told us, 'They are really sweet with us. But very skittish of new people and run away from anyone they don't know. I feel that they need to go to a home where someone will have the patience to work with them. They are house trained. And used to sleep in a kennel together in the house. ' Unfortunately, the owner nor extended family was/is not able to provide vetting, and both girls need to be brought current on vaccinations and spayed. Please note a medical sponsor may be available, and spaying will be a condition of the adoptions. The family is unable to afford vetting sadly and these dogs need a stable home to go to, but ideally with no other pets, and definitely no cats. The daughter also told us, 'They have killed several cats and raccoons. They have fought with my female dog. As well as fight with each other. But that has only happened when they are in heat.' They also fought with a male who tried to mate with them. it is unclear if after they are spayed, they could co-exist better with one another or another submissive dog. For now, we are recommending as an only pet/dog or only with each other. Spaying should reduce some of the issues. These dogs are very, very urgent and living in a dire situation outside with little human contact anymore, as the deceased owner's home now being sold any time. These poor dogs will likely be taken to the local county shelter where they are expected to be euthanized, if no home or foster steps up. Rescues need fosters to help. Chow experience is preferred. Transport within 3 hours may also be available for qualified solid homes.
