About Penny

Penny - Looking for an Experienced, Loving Home Penny is a beautiful, intelligent dog looking for a very special person to call her own. She absolutely lives for fetch and could happily play for hours. One of her sweetest habits is gently placing the ball or toy back into your lap or even tossing it into your hands, ready for the next throw. It's impossible not to smile watching her play. Penny also loves going for walks, knows basic commands like sit and stay, is housebroken, and is very food motivated, which makes continued training rewarding. She forms strong bonds with her person and is incredibly loyal and protective. Because we want to find the right match for both Penny and her future family, it's important to be transparent. Penny has shown aggression toward unfamiliar people entering her space and has had incidents where she has attempted to bite and has also inflicted a minor bite that did not break the skin. For that reason, she cannot be placed in a home with children or frequent visitors and would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands behavioral management and is willing to continue her training. This decision has been incredibly difficult because Penny has many wonderful qualities. We simply recognize that she needs an environment where she can be successful and everyone can be safe.
