Meet Bonnie: Beauty Beyond Fur �%9D%A4��%8F Bonnie came to us from a shelter in 2024 with severe demodectic mange, a skin condition often caused by a compromised immune system and extreme stress. Over the last two years, we've spared no effort trying to help her coat recover, working with specialists at the Animal Dermatology Clinic and investing thousands of dollars in treatment and testing. The final conclusion? Bonnie's hair simply isn't coming back. She has a soft, fine layer of hair over her body, and the hair on her face and head has grown back nicely, but this is how Bonnie will always look. And honestly? We think she's absolutely gorgeous. Her unique appearance turns heads everywhere she goes. With her soulful eyes and elegant face, she almost looks like she has a touch of Great Dane in her, though she's only about 60 pounds. But Bonnie's real beauty comes from who she is. From her foster: 'Bonnie is a very well-behaved young lady. She is excellent with people, dogs of all sizes, and even cats, including cats that run. She knows to stay off the furniture. She loves her meals, her walks, and her octopus toy. She'll even toss it for herself when she's bored.' Bonnie is likely a naturally high-energy dog, but she's so well-mannered and easygoing that she comes across as more of a medium-energy companion. She's the perfect combination of playful and polite. She gets along with everyone she meets, has wonderful house manners, and asks for very little in return: a safe home, a favorite toy, and someone who can see past her missing coat and recognize the incredible dog underneath. Bonnie has spent enough of her life being judged by her appearance. We're hoping her future family will see what everyone who knows her already does: She's not just a good dog. She's an extraordinary one.
