About Bizz

Bizz is an 8-month-old Retriever mix with a goofy personality, endless enthusiasm, and all the potential to become an incredible lifelong companion! As a young stray, he's still learning about the world, but he approaches every new experience with curiosity, confidence, and an eagerness to make friends. If you're looking for an active, affectionate dog who will keep you smiling every day, Bizz could be your perfect match. Bizz already knows sit (especially when treats are involved!) and is highly food motivated, making him an excellent candidate for continued training. He takes treats gently with no finger nipping and responds well to leash guidance and redirection when he becomes distracted. Like many adolescent dogs, he can become excited when he spots another dog or person on walks and may pull on the leash, but he is easily redirected and eager to work with his handler. With consistency and positive reinforcement, Bizz is sure to grow into a well-mannered adult companion. One of Bizz's greatest strengths is his friendly, easygoing personality with people. During his behavioral evaluation, he happily accepted full-body handling, including having his paws, ears, tail, collar, mouth, and feet examined without showing any signs of stress or discomfort. He remained relaxed throughout every part of the assessment and clearly enjoyed interacting with people. Bizz also showed no signs of food guarding or resource guarding, calmly allowing handlers to interact with his food bowl and valued items while remaining comfortable and relaxed. Bizz is a social, playful young dog who truly enjoys the company of other dogs. During his dog-to-dog evaluation, he politely greeted another dog and enthusiastically accepted an invitation to play after the other dog offered a play bow. He remained loose-bodied, wiggly, and appropriately playful throughout the interaction, earning an assessment of being likely all-around dog friendly. His happy-go-lucky attitude makes him an excellent candidate for a home with another playful canine companion. Bizz also showed wonderful promise around cats. During his cat assessment, he politely approached the cat, sniffed briefly, and then chose to disengage and walk away. He displayed no predatory behavior, was easily redirected, and seemed much more interested in interacting with people than focusing on the cat. Based on his evaluation, Bizz is considered likely cat friendly, although slow, supervised introductions are always recommended with any new pet. Bizz is looking for an active family that will embrace his playful puppy energy while continuing his training and socialization. He would thrive in a home that enjoys walks, adventures, enrichment activities, and plenty of playtime. His love of treats, eagerness to learn, affectionate personality, and excellent temperament make him an outstanding candidate for families, first-time adopters, or anyone looking for a loyal best friend.
