Seeking the Perfect Home for a 3-Year-Old Purebred Australian Shepherd Making this decision has been incredibly difficult, but I'm looking for the perfect forever home for my 3-year-old purebred Australian Shepherd. He is a loyal, loving dog who is wonderful with me and my teenage daughter. Despite being an Aussie, he's actually pretty laid-back around the house and enjoys relaxing with his family. However, like many herding breeds, he needs purpose and structure to truly thrive. His biggest challenge is that he becomes easily overstimulated when new people come into the home. When that happens, his strong herding instincts take over, and he needs someone who understands the breed and can confidently redirect those behaviors. He isn't looking for someone to run marathons with him-he's looking for someone who can give him a job. Whether that's living on a farm, participating in obedience or agility, learning advanced commands, hiking, or simply having consistent training and a meaningful role in daily life, he needs both mental engagement and leadership. He would do best with: * Someone experienced with Australian Shepherds or other herding breeds. * A home that provides structure, training, and mental enrichment. * Someone who appreciates the intelligence and instincts of this amazing breed. * A family committed to helping him succeed and giving him the purpose he craves. This decision is being made entirely out of love. I want him to have the life he deserves, even if that means it's with someone better suited to meet his needs. I will be very selective about where he goes because finding the right home is far more important than finding a quick home. If you think you could provide the environment he's looking for, or know someone who can, please send me a message.
