American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Goofy! %9D%A4%8F Goofy is still just a puppy-only about 8 months old-but he's already overcome so much. Now he's ready to find the family that will show him what love truly feels like. When Goofy first appeared at an elderly gentleman's home, he was terrified of people. It took six weeks of quiet patience, gentle encouragement, and kindness before Goofy trusted him enough to accept a single touch. Knowing Goofy would have a much better chance of finding a forever home if he could learn that people are safe, this wonderful gentleman invested his time and heart into helping him before bringing him to Animal Services. That kindness changed Goofy's life. Today, Goofy is an incredible young dog who wants so badly to make his people happy. While he's still shy with new people and continues to build his confidence, every day he shows us just how eager he is to learn. He's making wonderful progress with leash walking and catches on quickly because he genuinely wants to please. Goofy is very submissive with other dogs and gets along well with both large and small dogs. Because of his gentle nature, he'd do best with calm, respectful canine companions rather than dogs that are overly pushy or dominant. At just 8 months old, Goofy still has all the potential in the world. What he needs most is a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. A quiet home, gentle hands, and a little patience will help this sweet boy continue to blossom into the loyal companion we know he can be. Watching Goofy learn that people can be kind has been incredibly rewarding. If you're looking for a dog whose love is earned through patience and compassion, Goofy just might be your perfect match.
