About Willow

Hi, I'm Willow! I'm a 7-year-old, 8lb Yorkie girl with a whole lot of personality packed into a tiny body. I spent time living outside on the streets before FCCR took me in, and that kind of history shapes a girl - so I'm looking for someone who understands that trust comes slowly, but once I do trust you, I'm all in. I need patience and consistency to truly thrive, and I do best when I'm allowed to warm up at my own pace. Once I do trust you, I am SO affectionate - I love lap time, snuggling close to my person, and getting head rubs and tummy rubs (just let me ask for them first!). I even have a signature move - I like to stand up on my back legs and wave my little paws at you when I'm begging for attention. I also howl sometimes, which is just my dramatic way of saying 'helloooo, pet me please!' I'm housebroken, I sleep happily in my own bed, and I'm starting to really get into toys. I do well with other dogs as long as they respect my space, though I'm not sure yet how I'd feel about cats. No kiddos for me. I'm also quite the swimmer, and I love being outdoors, so a home with a securely fenced yard (and maybe even a kiddie pool for me to splash in!) would make me one happy girl. Speaking of fences - I am a runner and a door-dasher, so a secure setup is a must for my safety. I'll also need a little leash training since I like to pull. I eat a special prescription (ID) diet to keep my tummy happy and I found out I'm heart worm positive (all that time outside without heartworm prevention).Thanks to FCCR and your donations, I'm starting the life-saving treatment process and I am expected to make a full recovery.
