About Happy

I have been temporarily caring for Happy for the last week. He was abandoned by his owner left in his kennel filthy and unfed. He was very thin when I found him, he is putting on weight and doing very well. I was worried kennel training would be difficult, but now that he knows he gets out in the morning he willingly goes in and night and is not relieving himself in there. I do usually wake up between 2-4 am to let him out, he goes very quickly and right back into the kennel. I have taught him sit and lay down and shake. He does so well so quickly. However when too many people or animals are around he's too distracted to listen so that needs work yet. If I had the means to do so, we would love to keep him. But we don't have the space for him and we also have a very possessive 3yr old small dog who does not like him. Happy loves him though and loves the neighbor dogs. We also have 2 cats and 2 kittens, he's interested in them and also spooked a bit by them, but never aggressive. He's kept his distance from them. He is obsessed with human attention and good around kids, only caution there is his mouth is often open when he's playing and he likes to go after hands so that needs correction. Not sure what else to add, but this pup has so much potential. Cane corso is his mix, that wasn't an option in the box but that's what he is. Mom was pit bull dad was cane corso.
