Please help Chico! He will lose his life in a shelter in TN on Monday 8/3 if no one comes forward before Monday morning. Chico is only 2 years old and like many dogs, is fearful in the loud shelter environment. He is fully vaccinated and will be neutered prior to adoption. He is heartworm negative. Chico takes a little time to warm up to new people, but treats help him build confidence quickly. He was initially hesitant to leave his kennel and a bit nervous walking through the noisy shelter, but once outside he relaxed and showed his sweet personality. After a few minutes, Chico became very affectionate, leaning into pets, nudging hands for attention, and happily rolling over for belly rubs. He also has a playful side, enjoying zooming around the yard, play bowing, and chasing a tennis ball. He greeted new people with friendly body language, climbed into a volunteer's lap for cuddles, and happily sought out affection. Chico walks much more confidently after settling in and returned to his kennel without hesitation. He allowed all handling with relaxed body language and showed no resource guarding with food. We don't want his last day to be spent in a cement kennel. If you can open your home and heart to this boy, please reach out to Julie on 919 624 0059
