About Gus

Gus is a little dog with a big story of survival. Gus came to YROC in June after being released to us by a local shelter as a rescue-only case. He was originally found as a stray, lying on the ground behind a Long John Silver's. When he arrived at the shelter, it was discovered that Gus had a broken pelvis. He was scared, in pain, and needed someone willing to give him a chance. Without rescue intervention, Gus was at risk of euthanasia. We knew this little guy deserved the opportunity to heal and find the loving home he had always deserved. ��%90%BE Male Yorkie ��%90%BE Approximately 1-2 years old ��%90%BE 6-7 pounds ��%90%BE Heartworm negative ��%90%BE Neutered ��%90%BE Housebroken Despite everything he has been through, Gus is doing wonderfully in foster care. His pelvis is healing, and the amazing news is that he did not require surgery. His foster is completely amazed by him. After caring for many dogs, she says Gus is by far one of the smartest dogs she has ever fostered. He is incredibly intelligent, learns quickly, and is showing everyone what a special little soul he is. Gus loves to play and has young dog energy. We are looking to place him with a young family who will provide him with a stable home for the next 15 years+. Gus has endured injury, fear, and uncertainty-but he has continued to show resilience and a sweet spirit. Now he just needs a forever family who will love him, spoil him, and remind him every day that he is safe. His difficult days are behind him and he is ready for his forever home!
