Hershel is a 3-year-old, 7-pound sable Pomeranian with a gentle personality and a quiet, easygoing nature. He's a little overweight at the moment and is working toward a healthier weight of about 5 pounds. When he first came into rescue, his coat had some thinning, but with proper nutrition and care, his beautiful sable coat is already growing back in nicely. His thyroid was tested and is completely normal. Hershel can be a bit timid when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly once he realizes he's safe. He has a calm, reserved personality and is the kind of dog who prefers a peaceful environment over constant excitement. Once he settles in, he's a sweet little companion who enjoys being close to his people without demanding attention. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would fit in well with a canine companion, though he'd also be happy soaking up the attention as an only dog. He has not been formally tested with cats, but based on his gentle temperament, we believe he would do well. He also doesn't mind respectful, polite children. Hershel rides well in the car and is currently learning to walk on a harness and leash. He continues to gain confidence every day and would do well with a family willing to encourage him as he adjusts to his new home. Hershel is fully vetted, including a full exam, neuter, dental, vaccinations, microchip, deworming, and fecal testing. He is current on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Hershel is located in Houston, TX, and his adoption fee is $650. Apply to adopt at www.tpsrescue.com
