About Peanut

Peanut is a senior mixed breed, presumably part pug given the markings on his face. He is around 18 pounds, and about 15 years old. (Not sure: the humane society didn't have history.) He is neutered, HW negative, and on Heartgard. He has cataracts in both eyes and is hard of hearing, but he sees and hears well enough that no special help is needed. Peanut belonged to my recently deceased father and is accustomed to being an only dog. He does ok with female dogs and similar sized males, but he sometimes challenges larger males, we suppose out of fear. We have never had him around kids or cats, but I don't think it would be a good match. Please don't get the wrong idea: he's great with adults and welcomes attention. We just never have had the opportunity to observe him in other settings. Peanut likes to go outside in the fenced yard to patrol his kingdom, but he also enjoys a snooze with his human. My sister and I would love to keep him, but we have moved abroad to a hot climate where we already have 6 dogs and a cat in a very small yard. We truly believe he could not thrive there. Peanut would be a great companion for an older individual or couple.
