About Scrappy

Scrappy is a 7-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix who has been with me for the past six years after being rescued in 2020. He is affectionate, loyal, loves cuddling, walks, and playtime, and is highly food-motivated. His favorite treats are cucumbers, apples, and carrots. He is house-trained, healthy, and knows basic commands including sit, stay, come, off, wait, and paw. Scrappy thrives with mental and physical enrichment, such as Kongs or lick mats. Like many rescues, he has anxiety and reactivity, separation anxiety, and occasional territorial behavior. Very rarely when frightened, he has bitten defensively. I have worked with trainers, daycare, boarding, and pack walks, which improved this behavior. Unfortunately, my frequent work travel and inconsistent schedule have increased his anxiety. He needs an experienced owner who can provide a stable environment. With the right person, Scrappy will be a devoted, loving, and wonderful companion.
