%90%BE Meet Gouda %90%BE After everything she's been through, Gouda is finally ready to find the forever home she deserves. Gouda is a 2-3 yr old small Yorkie/Dachshund mix, approximately 13-14 pounds, with a sweet, gentle personality. She recently raised a litter of 10 puppies and was an incredible mom. Now that her babies are growing up, it's finally Gouda's turn to be loved. Gouda is shy and reserved with new people and takes time to build trust. Once she feels safe, she's affectionate, loyal, and enjoys being close to her person. She is not the type of dog who enjoys meeting strangers, going to social events, or visiting dog parks. She prefers a quiet, predictable home where she can feel secure. Gouda is a very high-risk escape artist. She recently became frightened and escaped from both her collar and harness while in foster care. Thankfully, she was found safe, but because of this experience, we will not place her in a home where leash walking is expected. Gouda does not do well on a leash and should not be taken on neighborhood walks. Instead, she needs a home with a very secure, fully fenced yard where she can safely go outside. Her adopter must always be extremely cautious with doors, gates, and any opportunity for her to slip away. She would do best in a quiet home with no children and someone who is home often. She thrives on routine and needs a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. She gets along well with other dogs, and a calm, friendly dog in the home would be a wonderful companion for her. Requirements - Very secure, fully fenced yard required - No leash walks - Experienced dog owner preferred - No children - Someone who is home often - Quiet, low-traffic home with few visitors - Another calm, friendly dog is a plus - Must be located in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach County - No out-of-state adoptions Gouda's adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay surgery, microchip, fecal testing, blood work, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and a heartworm test when applicable. If you believe you're the patient, committed person Gouda has been waiting for, please read her full requirements and submit an adoption application at www.pawpatrolanimalrescue.com.
