About Harriett Kane

When Harriett Kane first came into our shelter on 7/16/26 she was repeatedly spinning in circles. She also had some unusual head jerking movements while resting. Our medical team checked her out and started her on some medication, though we can't be 100% sure of what caused all of this. It could be compulsive behavior, or a neurological problem affecting the cerebellum (the part of the brain that controls coordination. It could even have been caused by stress, from having spent a long time in a kennel. Harriett Kane has improved though, thanks to medication from our med team! She now only seems to spin in circles when excited, and she keeps her head tremors to a minimum. This sweet little girl does have an underbite (her lower jar sticks out further than her upper jaw), but it just adds to her charm! She does have some moderate dental disease as well. Despite whatever she's been through, she remains a super sweet dog, if a little shy! She allows you to pet her all over, and doesn't mind if you pick her up or move her around. She doesn't seem to know any tricks, and prefers laying in a comfy bed over playing with toys. She's more of a relax and cuddle kind of girl. The saddest part of Harriett Kane's story? We can tell she had an owner before. She has an indention around her neck from where she clearly wore a collar for awhile. But, sadly, she had no owner information on her and no one came looking for her. Now Harriett Kane is ready to start over and find new love. Could that be with you?
