Cera A290789 URGENT. MY DEADLINE IS AUGUST 4 AT 4:00 PM. PLEASE DON'T LET MY STORY END HERE. Hi... my name is Cera. I'm only 2 years old. Just a couple of months ago I was found as a stray. I didn't know what was going to happen to me, but I hoped this would be the beginning of a better life. Instead, I'm now facing a deadline. I've only been at the shelter for a short time, but living in a kennel has been so much harder than I ever imagined. The constant barking, noise, and stress have become overwhelming. I pace. I spin. I jump. I've even started losing weight even though everyone is trying so hard to help me. I'm not giving up because I want to. I'm falling apart because shelter life is breaking my heart. But that's not who I really am. Outside of my kennel I'm a completely different girl. I'm happy. I'm sweet. I love people, and once I get to know you, I'm a total cuddle bug. The volunteers know that the real Cera isn't the anxious dog they see behind kennel bars. The real me just wants someone to love. I was respectful when I met cats at the shelter. Around other dogs I'll need slow introductions because I didn't have much socialization before I came here. New dogs can make me nervous at first, but with patience and guidance I can continue to build my confidence. A home without other dogs, or one willing to introduce us slowly, would help set me up for success. I don't need a perfect life. I just need a chance to leave this kennel behind before it's too late. Please don't let the stress of shelter life decide the rest of my story. If you can't adopt me, please consider fostering.
