I should be spending my days chasing tennis balls in my own backyard, hiking with my family, splashing in the water, and falling asleep after a day full of adventures. Instead... I've been waiting in a kennel. Now I've been told I only have until August 4 at 4:00 PM. I don't understand how my life came down to a deadline. Everyone tells me I'm such a fun dog. They laugh when I leap through the air to catch a tennis ball because I almost never miss. I can play fetch for hours, cool off with a quick splash in the water, then come right back ready for another throw. Being active is what I love, but I'd trade every tennis ball in the world just to have someone to throw it for me every day. I dream about having a person who wants me by their side. Someone to hike with. Someone to laugh with. Someone who will look at me and say, 'You're coming home.' I'm not asking for a perfect family. I'm just asking for a chance. If you already have a dog, please bring them with you for a meet and greet. The shelter wants to make sure we're a great match so we can start our new lives together. Please don't let my story end before it ever really begins. If you can't adopt me, please consider fostering. Even sharing my story could help the person I've been waiting for finally find me.
