About Willowdean

Meet Willowdean ���� No dog should ever look the way Willowdean did when she arrived at the shelter. She came in as a welfare case-emaciated and in desperate need of care. The shelter staff loved her back to health, helping her gain the weight she so desperately needed. Today, Willowdean is about 6 years old, weighs around 60 pounds, and is healthy, beautiful, and ready for the life she's always deserved. But there was one problem. She was a Husky in an overcrowded shelter. While the other dogs she shared a kennel with found homes one by one, Willowdean stayed behind. Eventually, she became one of the shelter's longest residents, and we were asked to step in and help. We couldn't say no. Today, Willowdean is settling into a loving foster home where she's finally getting the attention and affection she has always deserved. Watching her soak up love is something really special. We have a feeling she may be experiencing this kind of devotion for the very first time. And let us tell you-this girl is incredible. Willowdean is calm, quiet, and unbelievably gentle. She takes treats with the softest mouth, has wonderful manners, and the sweetest, most peaceful presence. It didn't take us long to understand why the shelter staff loved her so much. She's crate trained and wonderful with kids, cats, and other dogs, making her an easy fit for so many families. Willowdean has already survived more than any dog should.
