Cayuga, Indiana (willing to drive up to 100 miles). 4 Y/O MALE Possible Runt of the Litter GSD (DOB: 4/22/2022). His name is 'Toby.' Background: Current Shepherd Parent has had Toby since he was a puppy. UTD on shots WITH record. NOT Fixed. Good with kids. Good with large breed dogs his size, but UNKNOWN with small breed dogs. Toby currently lives with 4 Labrador Retrievers and one other German Shepherd. Unfortunately, he is frequently picked on and attacked by the other dogs in the home. NOT Good with cats. NOT House trained. Toby currently lives outside. NOT Crate trained. He currently lives in a barn and has not been crate trained. Any known medical issues?: No ongoing medical issues. Toby has previously been attacked by the other household dogs, causing wounds that required antibiotics. He has fully healed. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: Toby has experienced repeated attacks from other household dogs, which have understandably affected his confidence. ENERGY LEVEL: High. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Medium. Weighs approximately 50 lbs. Currently on Purina Dog Chow. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: People?: Yes. Dogs?: No. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes. Loves: Toys, treats, affection, walks, playing with kids, playing with friendly dogs, being near his person, and chew toys. Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): No. Toby does not currently have reliable recall. Good on a Leash?: No. Toby has lived outdoors and has not had the opportunity to learn leash manners. Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: While being attacked by another household dog, Toby accidentally made contact with the Current Shepherd Parent out of fear while trying to protect himself. He did not realize he had done it, the skin was not broken, no medical treatment was needed, and no action was taken. This was a very minor incident and was not human-directed aggression. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'This Boy Is VERY sweet under his exterior timidness and appearance. He is fonder of women than men but has no problem with me because I'm always loving on him too, but he would need that time to warm up to a new man. He just wants to be loved and play. He's a lot smarter than anyone gives him credit for.' Re Homing because�'�|: The other household dogs have never accepted Toby as part of their pack and continue to bully and attack him. Toby deserves to have the opportunity to finally be treated as a true member of the family, living safely inside a home where he is loved and protected. Toby deserves a fresh start with kind, compatible dogs-or as the only dog-where he can finally relax and thrive.
