About Phoebe

# Meet Phoebe Location: Brenham, TX DOB: 5/29/23 Phoebe may have had a difficult start in life, but she hasn't let it change her sweet, gentle heart. She was rescued severely malnourished with a heavy tick and flea infestation that caused parasites, muscle weakness, and some neurological issues. She has been treated, is recovering well, and continues to gain strength every day. Phoebe is an easygoing, affectionate girl who simply wants to be close to her people. She's happiest curled up on a soft dog bed, making her the perfect couch potato in training. She has wonderful house manners, is completely house-trained, uses a doggy door, and even rings bells when she wants to go outside. She can be left home alone for several hours, rides great in the car, rarely barks, and loves belly rubs. One of Phoebe's cutest quirks is her happy dance. She dances in place when she's excited to go outside and celebrates with another little dance after she goes potty because she's so proud of herself. Phoebe gets along well with children, cats, and even chickens. She hasn't met many dogs yet, but her gentle, submissive personality suggests she would do well with slow introductions. She has no food aggression and is only a little shy around men at first. Because of her neurological condition, Phoebe has an adorable wobbly walk and can slip on slick floors, so a home with carpet or rugs would be ideal. She may occasionally need a little help keeping her balance while going potty, but she doesn't let it slow her down. She still loves to run, explore, and enjoy life. Phoebe is looking for a patient family who will continue helping her grow stronger while giving her all the love she deserves.
