We have a driven, energetic, and protective 4-year-old German Shepherd (Indy) who is a good dog but because of some of his reactive tendencies we have to keep him crated so much that it's not fair to the dog. Specifically, he chases our cats so we can't have him in the house with them. He's also very protective and gets aggressive around cleaning people, gardeners, and other dogs who are not our second dog. We would be sad to say goodbye to him but he should not be spending most of his time in the crate and he would do best in a household with another medium sized female dog or as an only dog for a very attentive and experienced person who can spend a lot of time with him, hiking, on adventures etc'| Someone who understands the breed. He loves chasing the ball and he is very affectionate with our family and my in-laws. He has his papers and is a full bred working line shepherd.
