About Maizy

Maizy is an energetic, people-loving, 6-year-old, Red Heeler/Pit mix who enjoys walks, snuggling, playing fetch, and looking out the window. She is a smart dog who sits, lays down, and shakes on command. Originally a rescue from Houston, Maizy has been a great companion dog for us. However, she struggles to get along with our cat and neighborhood dogs. She does incredibly well as a house-trained and crate-trained pet. She loves to be next to you on the couch while watching TV or reading. She gets very excited to meet new people. Maizy does not like fireworks and thunder. We love her, but a change in our day-to-day living and her inability to coexist with our other (older) pet means we have to re-home her after 5 wonderful years. *Depending on climate, we have seen some allergy issues (scratching) with Maizy.
