About ROY

Roy is a sweet older gentleman who came to us from AHS where he was at risk due to mildly enlarged heart (grade 3 murmur) and and a stinkly mouth. Roy was also a bit underweight but has gained and gotten closer to his ideal now that his painful teeth are gone. Roy is estimated at 8 years old and is around 14 lbs. Roy walks nicely on a leash, is mostly housetrained using the dog door and does pretty well in a crate for short periods. He was able dental surgery (with extractions) when he was neutered. Roy does have some early stage cataracts but still seems to see well and hears well also. Our vet also evaluated his heart and said he does not need to be on medications at this time. Roy may be a little selective about his 4 legged friends though he gets along with most of the dogs at his foster home. Roy is very friendly and outgoing with new people though may be a bit too exuberant for small children.
