About Phoenix

Meet Phe! He has had a really rough start. My sister and I found him on the side of the road close to death, no collar, no chip, and starving. We both have multiple animals, and while we couldn't leave him, we can't keep him. Vet says he's about 2 or 3 years old. He is great on a leash, LOVES adventures, will hop right in the car with ease! Has occasional leash reactivity with no clear trigger, so needs an experienced owner!! He allowed me to bath him just fine, easier than my own dogs I've had for years. He is crate trained, goes in so easily, and spends a lot of time in there. He does well with my female dog and my grandparents submissive male dog, but my big boy is very territorial and so I have to crate and rotate. He has a high prey drive, and while he has never gone after my cat (always been on a leash inside), I don't know if I'd trust him with cats without training. That being said, he is SO SMART. He is the sassiest dog I've ever met, learns very quickly, presumed breed combo doozy. He will throw little temper tantrums, plop down, and demand walks over backyard time! He is not house broken, he'll hike a leg on anything, so that will also necessitate an experienced owner. He is so loving, he will put his head into your chest or big lean into you for snuggles and pets. He is the sweetest boy.
