Please make sure you are willing to travel to meet her before contacting me. %8F Meet Chili - Your New Best Friend! %90%BE%9D%A4%8F Some dogs have difficult beginnings, yet somehow never lose their ability to love. Chili is one of those dogs. Chili is an approx 3-year-old, 40-pound, spayed female. If I had to guess her breed, I'd say she's a mix of Canaan Dog and Terrier (Rat Terrier?)-but I always say 'Rescue' is the very best breed of all. Born at a dump on the beautiful island of St. Croix, Chili has overcome so much. Despite her rough start, she has remained one of the sweetest, gentlest souls you'll ever meet. Now all she's looking for is someone to love her for the rest of her life. %9D%A4%8F About Chili: %90%BE Loves other dogs (proper introductions are always recommended) %90%BE No cats, please %90%BE Quiet girl-not a barker, so she'd do well in a condo or apartment %90%BE House-trained when kept on a consistent schedule %90%BE Low-maintenance couch potato who loves to relax with her people %90%BE Can be a little timid in new situations but blossoms with patience, kindness, and love %90%BE Looking for someone to be her very best friend Chili isn't looking for a temporary home. She deserves a family that understands adopting a dog is a lifetime commitment. Rescuing dogs has been my life's passion for over 35 years. Five years ago I was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, and after several major surgeries and lengthy hospitalizations, I've had to slow down my rescue work. But when I was asked to help Chili, I simply couldn't say no. I promised her I would find the loving forever home she deserves, and I intend to keep that promise. If you own your home, a securely fenced yard with a privacy fence is preferred (no chain-link or see-through fencing). My goal is to place Chili with someone who can love and care for her physically, emotionally, and financially for the rest of her life. Chili is: Spayed Up to date on vaccinations Heartworm negative On heartworm and flea/tick prevention Microchipped (the microchip remains in my name indefinitely for her safety-I'm happy to explain why.) She must remain current on annual veterinary care, vaccinations, and preventatives. A phone interview, veterinary reference, home visit, and $400 rehoming fee are required. %9D%A4%8F I truly believe Chili will love you with her whole heart. Will you love her forever? PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL If you are interested or have questions, please call me directly at 954-534-5606. I have many additional photos and would love for you to meet Chili in person.
