A committed home is required for her to make the trip, and we're hopeful the right family is out there. Meet Brooklyn Prepare to fall completely in love with Brooklyn! This sweet 1.5-year-old Australian Shepherd/Retriever mix (best guess) somehow ended up at animal control as a stray, and we still can't believe no one came looking for her. She's an absolute gem with a heart full of love and a personality that shines everywhere she goes. Brooklyn hasn't met a stranger. She is incredibly kind, friendly, and loves everyone she meets. Whether she's attending a public event or spending time with volunteers at the shelter, Brooklyn is always happy to greet people with a wagging tail and a smile. If you're looking for a social butterfly, Brooklyn is your girl. She is excellent with other dogs and has earned a reputation as a playgroup rockstar. She also absolutely adores children, making her an incredible companion for a family looking to add a fun, affectionate dog to their home. At 40 pounds, Brooklyn is the perfect medium-sized companion for adventures, walks, or simply relaxing with her people after a busy day. She is already spayed and heartworm negative, so she's ready to hop on transport and begin her new life in Wisconsin. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
