About Riley

Hello there, future family! My name is Riley, and I'm a beautiful 85 pound 8 year old Golden Retriever with a rich, dark red coat, soulful eyes, and a heart overflowing with love. While I may be a little shy when we first meet, I promise there's a gentle, devoted girl beneath my quiet exterior, who is just waiting for the right family to help her truly shine. After spending many years as a breeding mom in a puppy mill, I'm learning what it means to simply be a cherished family member. Every day in my foster home brings new experiences, and I'm making wonderful strides as I discover all the little joys that so many dogs take for granted. With each passing day, my confidence grows. One thing that has helped me tremendously is having other dogs around. Because of this, I would absolutely love a forever home with another dog who can continue showing me the ropes and helping me blossom into the happy, carefree girl I'm meant to be. As I settle in, my sweet personality shines brighter every day. I have a calm, gentle spirit, and while I'm not one to demand attention, I cherish every bit of love and patience I'm given. Watching my confidence grow is incredibly rewarding, and the little milestones-wagging my tail a little higher, seeking out affection, or relaxing comfortably beside my people-are the moments that make my journey so special. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
