About Dave

Dave is a playful, energetic, loveable, and intelligent puppy. He's got one ear that never lays flat that makes him so adorkable and beautiful eyes! Dave is very energetic, but at just about 3 months old he also sleeps a lot (as he should). He is incredibly smart and friendly, loves to play tug-o-war, his favorite toys are soft ones that crackle and squeek. He often sleeps belly up! At his age, Dave sleeps a lot, mostly in his crate. Naps are about every 2 hours or so. During his time awake he loves to chew on his chew toys and there's always windows (usually 5-10 mins) of some training. He loves to play with people, but he's pretty good at entertaining himself if he has something good to chew on! Dave would thrive in a home that can give him more one-on-one time and I would love it if he went to home where he doesn't have to be in a crate most of the day. So far, he's done very well with other dogs and teenagers, no idea about cats or little kids, but I can imagine he would do well with litte ones. Just keep in mind, he's still very young and teething so puppy biting it still very real. He is so loving and friendly. Dave can ring a bell hung from a doorknob to let you know when he needs to go outside to go to the bathroom and I'd say he's pretty much house broken. He can sit and lay down, but he won't stay in those posititions for too long; he's still learning. He sits before you open an exterior door (like taking him out to potty) and waits pretty decently for the 'ok' to go outside. He's also still learning but catches on quick! He is crate trained for the night time (he can already hold his bladder for 6 hours, but please don't expect that every night), and he naps in his crate, but we haven't really worked daytime crate training for things like leaving the house. He can go on a leash, but since he's so young we haven't taken him on long walks. His does really well in the car and at the vet. Dave is neutered, has recently had a 30-day tablet for heartworm, ticks, and fleas, and has had the canine 5-in-1 (DA2PP) vacination. He is microchipped. He is too young to have been vacinated for rabies, that's 16 weeks and he is only about 11-12 weeks old. No special dietary needs that we have identified. He eats large breed puppy food from Blue Buffalo. We will send everything we have for Dave with him to include: wire crate, travel pop-up crate, puppy playpen, freezbone bowls, leash, harness, 30-ft lead for training (like recall), Kong, toys, snufflemat, a bag of treats, dog bed and I would happily supply a brand new small bag of dog food he currenly eats. I just want him to be loved and happy...We are only looking to rehome Dave because we are simply overwhelmed. We went to adopt an older puppy but when we saw Dave...we got both and it's just too much for us to have them both. There are NO behavioral issues with Dave. He gets along well with our other puppy and other dogs we've had him around. He loves people. We just can't keep up with both of them.
