About Yazmine

Every dog that enters a shelter has a story, and some dogs situations are more disheartening than others... Yazmine is another example of the type of neglect animals face. Yazmine is a 9-10 month old puppy that was picked up by Animal Control Officers Wednesday morning on 7/22/26 after reports of an ill-looking dog tied up in a ravine next to the 405 Freeway. When Officers arrived, they approached what can only be described as a recently abandoned makeshift homeless encampment with nothing left but discarded debris in a gutter... and one dog all by herself tied up by a red leash & missing all her fur :( Yazmine has suffered from weeks-months of malnutrition and neglect causing the majority of her fur to be gone & replaced with dry crusted scabs. Thankfully, when Officers brought Yazmine to the shelter she was examined by their medical team the following day where no parasites or contagious diseases were found (phew!). While it's safe to say Yazmine's worst days are behind her, she still has a very long road to recovery which the shelter cannot fully provide for the duration needed. Yazmine needs a caring animal rescue organization who can help continue her on a path to recovery so she is restored, it may take time, but in the right hands her external appearance can match her internal charm once again!
