About Rocket

Name: Rocket Age: Approximately 5 yrs Breed: adoption paperwork says 'Terrier'. Likely pitbull/terrier mix. M/F: M Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Neutered, up to date on all shots (I have all records) Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: Currently lives with other dogs, unsure about cats or kids. But we believe he would do better in a home with no other animals or children. Aggression or medical issues?: No medical issues. Reactive (barking and pulling on the leash) when encountering other stranger dogs and humans on walks. Fearful and anxious around strangers in the home until having a chance to warm up and calm down. Reason for rehoming?: We've noticed Rocket's behavior is starting to grow increasingly fearful and anxious. We've tried anxiety medication in the past but it hasn't helped. He is an extremely shy and scared guy and lacks confidence and trust. We have two other dogs in our household already who are more dominant and aren't helping to build his confidence. We had trainers come in and it was discussed and decided that Rocket is a good dog, but he would really thrive in a home where he could be the only dog and have humans who could give him their full attention to really build his confidence and trust of the world. House/crate trained?: Yes to both. He is house trained. And he is kennel trained and will go into his kennel and lay down with the command words 'go kennel'. Additional info/story: Rocket was a stray rescue so we are unsure of his full background. We did also muzzle train him due to originally being unsure of if he had any triggers. He typically will wear it with us for walks and going to the vet for his safety. He is a very sweet and loyal boy who loves to be close and snuggle with his humans. He just needs someone who can help give him some guidance and build his confidence so he can really come out of his shell. He is approximately 32 lbs.
