About Parkerton

Meet Parkerton! ��%A4%8D�٩ Parkerton is a beautiful gray and white girl who is approximately 10 months old, and her story is one we'll never forget. She was abandoned in a soft-sided carrier that had been left on a park bench at a local Cleveland park. One of our director's pet care clients found her there and reached out to ask if we could help. We picked her up the very next day. She was absolutely terrified. She was so frightened that it took quite a while just to get her out of the bathroom where she had taken refuge. The following day, she went in for her spay surgery. Before the procedure, the veterinary team even asked if we were sure we didn't want her ear tipped because of how frightened and defensive she seemed. We never doubted that she wasn't feral-she was simply confused, overwhelmed, and wondering why her whole world had been turned upside down. Over the next several days, we watched her slowly begin to trust again. You could see it in her eyes and in every movement she made. She would come close for affection�'�| then quickly back away. She wanted pets�'�| but fear would take over, and she'd swat. Little by little, she realized she was finally safe. Then everything changed. The scared little girl transformed into a cuddly lap cat who absolutely adores people. The difference was like night and day. Watching her learn to trust again has been one of the most rewarding journeys, and while it's heartbreaking that she ever had to experience being abandoned, we're so thankful her story didn't end there. Parkerton is now safe, loved, and ready for the forever family she deserves. We can't wait for someone to discover just how special she is.
