About Scooter

Adoption Fee: $375
German Shepherd mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Scooter is proof that sometimes the most extraordinary dogs come in the most unexpected packages. This sweet, happy puppy was born with a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia, which affects his balance and coordination. It causes him to wobble, spin, and occasionally tumble over, but don't tell Scooter he's any different, because he certainly doesn't believe it. When he's walking or running, Scooter charges forward with confidence. If he stops or lies down, though, his body sometimes gets ahead of his brain, causing him to spin in little circles before finding his balance again. And if he falls? He simply gets right back up and keeps going. His tail never stops wagging either. It's just who he is. One of Scooter's favorite places to be is tucked safely between your legs, leaning against you for a little extra support while gazing up with the sweetest, most loving eyes. He absolutely adores attention and happily soaks up every bit of affection you have to give. Beyond his wobbles, Scooter is every bit a normal puppy. He loves to play, wrestle with other dogs, explore, and enjoy life to the fullest. His condition doesn't slow him down or stop him from doing the things puppies love. He eats well, goes potty normally, rides great in the car, navigates stairs, and is remarkably independent. He's simply a busy little guy whose body moves a little differently than most. Scooter is wonderful with other dogs and would love a canine companion to play with. Because he can accidentally bump into people when he's balancing, he would likely do best in a home without toddlers or anyone who is unsteady on their feet, not because he means to, but because he can't always control where his wobbles take him. He has been fully evaluated and cleared by his veterinarian and is ready to find the family who will see him for what he truly is: a joyful, resilient, loving puppy who just happens to wobble. Scooter doesn't need someone to feel sorry for him. He needs someone who will laugh with him, cheer him on, and celebrate every joyful spin, tumble, and victory along the way and support him up when he needs it. Meet him just once, and it's almost impossible not to fall completely in love. Est DOB 3/21/26
