ASA - 4-year-old 'cow' domestic shorthair Asa (also known as Sonny) is a gentle, loving soul who rewards patience. He's a bit shy with new people and may take a few days to warm up - but once he trusts you, you've earned something special. He's the cat who, about once a day, will quietly hop into your lap simply because he's decided it's time for pets. He knows what he wants, and there's nothing sweeter than being chosen by him. He's a striking 'cow'-patterned cat - mostly white with black markings - and a big, solid boy (not overweight, just big-boned and substantial). Asa loves the calm pleasures: dozing on the bed or in his perch, watching birds from the window or screen porch, and chasing his favorite spring toys around the house with surprising enthusiasm for such a mellow guy. He's also a clever boy who delights in his treat puzzle box, happily working out how to free every last treat. He enjoys lap time and play in equal measure. Asa does best in a calmer home, as loud noises and a lot of commotion can make him nervous - but in a steady, gentle environment he blossoms into the most affectionate companion. Asa is wonderfully well-mannered: completely consistent with his litter box and only scratches his posts. He is up to date and had a recent wellness check. Asa is bonded with Alfie, his littermate and companion of four years. They can be adopted as a pair or separately. For someone willing to give him a little time, Asa will become the most devoted, heart-melting friend.
