About Bodhi

Bodhi is a 7 year old Australian Shepherd who is incredibly loving, smart, and has a personality that is hard not to love! He is very loyal and bonds deeply with his person and has a big heart. He is very well behaved, but he struggles with fear-based behavior that makes him reactive towards other dogs and small children. Over the years I have tried training programs trying to manage this behavior but have not been successful in doing so. I am now a new grandmother, and I fear for the safety of my grandchildren in my home. It's just not a risk that I can take. Bodhi has been with me since he was 8 weeks old so this has been an incredibly difficult decision but one made of love and a sincere desire to find Bodhi the right home where he can feel secure; one where he can be understood, supported, and given the chance to thrive with someone who can work with him patiently and his needs can be managed consistently. Bodhi will be available for adoption on August 19th. I will only consider rehoming him to a home without small children or other pets, for his safety as well as others, and to ensure that it's a compatible fit for his new owner.
