About Pickle

We've had Pickle since he was a puppy. We've made the difficult choice to surrender him due to his increasing intolerance of our other dog (a 7 yo female corgi) and our toddler. We have completed some behavior modification training with Haulin Aus (Pat Koven), which was wonderfully helpful for leash reactivity, but it has proven difficult to be consistent with the in-home training with a kiddo and other dog at home. We truly think he would do well in a single-dog home without young children (teens would be fine, I imagine) - when he stays 1:1 with our dog sitters, he is supposedly at ease and affectionate, instead of the tense and irritable dog we see. He has no experience with cats and is on Simparica Trio. He also takes sertraline and gabapentin daily. He has no human bite history but will snap at us if distressed, and has defensively bitten dogs (bite and release, not bite and shake) if they are in his space.
