Name: Radar Age: 2 yrs, 3 months Breed: Australian cattle dog mix (45 lbs) Sex: Male (Neutered) Location: Ocala, FL While Radar is food aggressive, he has come so far with his training, doing well with other animals otherwise. Vet Info: Current with vaccinations, HW negative. Radar was born blind (eye nerves never formed.) He has seen a veterinary ophthalmologist. Aside from his blindness, he is in perfect health. Dog Info: Current owner has been fostering a blind dog for about 1 &1/2 years that she rescued from a Humane Society since he was 9 months old. She has worked with him on house breaking, bin dumping, etc. He is developing a food possession issue. He is food aggressive around her other dogs, but she states he is otherwise wonderful with other dogs (playing, wrestling, and running together.) Owner states 'When he goes after, it is not to hurt, but to protect his food.' Radar is microchipped. He is an indoor dog with the run of the house. He is house broken and leash-trained. He knows the commands: Sit, down, wait, heal, fetch, find it, and leave it. He has had 6 months obediance training. He can be outgoing and shy. He is good with men, women, teens, and female dogs. While Radar plays together with the current owner's cats and dogs, he is possessive of food. He has jumped one cat and two of their dogs when they were near what he construed has a food threat. They arent allowed near him when he is eating or enjoying his evening chew. He is kept apart for those so he doesn't feel threatened. Current owner says he has never harmed nor broke the skin on any animal (never bitten or snapped at anyone.) He loves to adventure and does not let his blindness limit him, running loose on their 2.6 acres and does not let trees or anything stop him. She says he would set records if he became a nose work dog. He is a young, playful dog full of life. He lives to run and play fetch. He is so smart and full of such great potential. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
