About Maya

Rehoming sweet 2-year-old husky mix Maya 55lbs, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations We recently adopted Maya from a California shelter and unfortunately are looking for a new family for her. She is the sweetest girl (especially with people - she loves everyone she meets!) and she is great with other dogs. Sadly, we've learned that a home like ours with a cat and young kids is not the best fit for her. Her prey drive is strong and we have some safety concerns about her interactions with our kids (she is mouthy with and chases our 1 year old, though she does fine with our 4 year old). We are working on training, including with a professional, but want to explore all options because Maya deserves a home that will set her up for success. In terms of temperament, Maya is mellow for a husky and loves people more than anything. She wants to be as close as possible and is friendly with everyone she meets. She walks well on a leash, is great at fetch, and is learning how to sit. She loves playing with other dogs and would do well in a home with a playful friend. She is such a special dog and would be a wonderful addition to a family without cats and young kids.
