CODE RED/ X URGENT, SHELTER IS FULL- SHELTER SAYS GREAT BEHAVIOR; SWEET, DOG FRIENDLY - GOOD HOME, OR FOSTER AND RESCUE NEEDED ASAP PALMDALE, CA (S CAL)- LOS ANGELES COUNTY ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL- ID #A5788447- 'BENDER' is a younger rare blue Chow/Golden Retriever looking mix who needs exit asap, just came down with URI, adoptable with a medical waiver, but may need foster and rescue Please help us find a loving home, or foster and or rescue asap for this sweet boy fondly named Bender by the shelter. His main breed was noted as a chow mix due to his fluff and adorable face, but he actually has a pink tongue and resembles a blue colored golden retriever. Sadly, Bender was found as a stray on 7/9 and ended up at the very full Palmdale shelter, and his owners sadly never came. The shelter estimates he is only 2 years old, he weighs 67 lbs and has shades of a rare bluish fluffy coat. The shelter told us Bender received the highest behavior score of 1 and that he is kenneled with 2 other dogs and 'has been sweet and has a great behavior score from medical. 'They also just contacted us again because Bender just came down with an Upper respiratory infection noted on 7/14 and was prescribed doxy for 10 days. This means he is likely to be added to the euthanasia list soon, unfortunately. He can still be adopted at this time with a medical waiver requiring a new home to take him to a vet for a follow up appointment. We also have nice video of him enjoying being in the playyard and loving on people. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1668887244656036 For direct adoption inquiries for Bender, please contact the shelter asap by calling: (661) 575-2888 and asking for him by ID. He can be neutered for an adopter, if not already done, but this will be deferred while he still has URI symptoms. Bender's listing link to check status is: https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/LACO6/A5788447 If you can possibly foster, please ALSO contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist the shelter with his placement, so we can try to pair you with a rescue to help. Most rescues do need a foster to save a dog. Rescue groups may email the shelter at [email protected] and [email protected] Videos, additional pictures and updates will be posted on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/783968124/posts/10169315725458125/?mibextid=wwXIfr Note: to view contents of links you will need to copy and paste each one separately into your browser.
