Those of you that rescue/adopt these Shepherds in need instead of paying a Breeder, YOU are the REAL TRUE HEROES. Thank you so much. Case opened on: July 16, 2026. URGENT!!! Springfield, Ohio (willing to drive up to 3 hours). 8 Y/O FEMALE SABLE AKC REGISTERED GSD (DOB: 12/15/2017). Her name is 'Jade.' Background: Current Shepherd Parent has had Jade since she was 14 weeks old. NOT UTD on shots WITHOUT record. Fixed. Good with kids. She has never lived with children but has always done well when exposed to them. Good with dogs. She currently lives with one other German Shepherd. She can play rough at times so may not be well suited for a small breed dog. Good with cats. She currently lives with one cat. House trained. Crate trained, however, crating is NOT recommended. Jade has severe confinement anxiety during thunderstorms and fireworks. She is extremely skilled at escaping crates and has injured herself multiple times trying to get out. She is happiest and safest when left in a secure room or safe area instead of a crate. Any known medical issues?: Jade was born with cataracts, resulting in poor eyesight. Her veterinarian has advised that no treatment is needed at this time, and she navigates her daily life so well that you would never know she has limited vision. On July 4th, she broke a tooth while trying to escape her crate during fireworks, but it has since healed. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: None Disclosed. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Low. Weighs 80 lbs. Currently on Purina Dog Chow. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: People?: Yes. Dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes. Loves: Playing in water such as pools (but not being sprayed with a hose), cuddling, walks, relaxing on the couch, playing with other dogs, playing fetch, balls, being near her person, chew toys, and chew bones. She is a great walking companion! *Please request to see cute videos of Jade!* Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Unknown. Good on a Leash?: Yes. Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: None. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'She is a real love bug and deserves more than I can unfortunately offer her!' Re Homing because'|: The CSP purchased her home in 2023 and there are two shooting ranges nearby. Daily they are shooting 4-12 hours a day and it causes Jade's anxiety to spike. Jade is pacing constantly and trying to figure out ways to escape. She has destroyed every crate they have gotten her. They've tried CBD oil, pills, calming meds over the counter, etc. It's stressing her out along with any other loud noises ( fireworks ). They're also both working 12+ hour shifts a day and not home enough to be with her. They have had Jade since she was 14 weeks old and but think she would be much happier in a quiet home, where there isn't the stress of the shooting ranges daily. She's constantly escaping the crate and she's cut up her nose from it. Jade needs to find her Furever Person ASAP so that she can be in a relaxed environment and stop hurting herself. Will thrive best'|: In a living home with NO children, or OLDER children, active, preferably HOME OFTEN, who likes jogging or going on walks. Additional Note: Jade will thrive best with someone who respects her age, understands her anxiety around loud noises, respects her poor eyesight and does not crate her. Instead, she should have a secure, safe area when left alone. She may do best in a home with older children so she can remain relaxed and comfortable. She also enjoys playing with other dogs but can play rough, so she may not be the best fit for homes with small-breed dogs. Jade is still very active for an 8 year old. Comes with: Collar, leash, and AKC registration papers. Rehoming Fee: $75. If not on Facebook, please text me for more pics and full Profile.
