About Mikey

Sometimes the quietest dogs have the biggest hearts... they just need someone willing to listen. Meet Mikey, an adorable 6 year-old, 8-pound Poodle who's looking for the person who will show him what love truly feels like. Mikey hasn't had the easiest start in life. He was horribly matted and he is still a little shy and can be startled by loud noises, but every day he's learning that people can be kind. Once you gently pick him up, he's perfectly content to snuggle beside you on the couch and simply enjoy your company. Mikey gets along well with other dogs and loves following his furry friends around the yard. He's house-trained for the most part, and would thrive in a calm, patient home where he can continue to build confidence at his own pace. Because Mikey startles easily and isn't comfortable walking on a leash yet, he will need a securely fenced yard to keep him safe while he adjusts to his new life. This sweet boy isn't looking for perfection-he's looking for patience, understanding, and someone who will let him bloom in his own time.
