About Ratatouille

Meet Ratatouille, 'Ratty.' She's a sweet, resilient two-year-old pit bull terrier mix looking for her very own family. After spending much of her early life chained outside and then in a shelter, she's blossoming every day in foster care. Ratty loves people, loves car rides, and enjoys walks where she even stops to sniff and explore. She's a toy lover who adores lick mats with peanut butter, yak chews, cheek rolls, and bully sticks. And sometimes she rests them on your leg just to stay close. In the home, she's crate trained, sleeps quietly through the night, settles calmly when left, and is quiet, and calm in her room. With regular potty breaks, she's been almost accident free. She eats well, isn't a picky eater, and doesn't guard her food or toys. She's currently learning 'down' and 'look', working on leash skills and reactivity, and she'll have four training classes under her belt by adoption/foster transfer with The Good Dog STL. She'd thrive as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the love. With another dog, she'd need slow, thoughtful intros. Squirrels though, are a little too exciting. She'll need a securely fenced yard and supervision outside. Most of all, Ratty comes with her own starter kit. Her food, treats, toys, bed, blankets, leashes, harnesses, and more. She's come so far in just two months. Confident, curious, and full of love. If you're looking for a dog who's eager to learn, calm at home, and full of heart, Ratty is the missing piece.
