URGENT NEED Meet Max! What can we say about this sweet guy? To start, we know he isn't for everyone-and that's okay. Max is a lot like fine wine; he's a bit of an acquired taste. The people who understand dogs like Max know how incredible he is. At just 1�%BD years old and 55 pounds, this handsome Lab/Hound mix has already been through more than his fair share. One of the coolest parts of Max's story is how he came to NH. Max made the journey to us on an airplane (see photo!) and was the perfect co-pilot the entire flight. He took it all in like a champ and showed everyone just what a good boy he can be. Max has a goofy, lovable side. He loves exploring new smells, taking his time on walks, and if you really want to become his best friend, a good butt rub is the way to his heart! Like all of us, Max has a few wrinkles that need ironing out. He sometimes needs a little help from his humans to regulate his emotions and nervous system. What that really means is that Max thrives with structure, routine, and a calm, low-stimulation environment where he knows what to expect. The first few days and weeks to get used to things in such an environment will be particularly beneficial. When he gets excited, his emotions can get the best of him, so we're looking for an adult-only home with no kids or other pets where he can be set up for success. We know there are amazing people out there who don't overlook dogs like Max. They see beyond first impressions.
